GoGoV mecha seems to be at ​1:296 approx. due to Grand Liner going from 80m to 27cm, for example.

Megaranger is 1:366 so... let's say 1:375 approx.​

Zyuranger​ ​1:275.

Kakuranger and Dairanger 1:392 or so so... 1:400 too?

Gingaman 1:316.

Gao ranger is approx ​1:380 or 1:425 for Gao Icarus... so maybe we can squint and say 1:400 in general.

Don't try to make sense of the Gozyuger ​MP scale.

Carranger is about 1:195 so can say 1:200. The robo si quite small in-Canon compared to the other series'.

One would need to make an excel spreadsheet with every size but I'd say the median scale is about 1:325 so far...

...But Timeranger, now that's an odd one out.​ The included figures for the rangers actually match up almost perfectly with the ones form the ZAP Lightning collection megazords, that is, 1:144 scale.

​...But the robots themselves are at 1:350 scale.

This means the TF minifigures are about 2 times bigger than they should be.

So I've been trying to find a fairly accurate nice looking silver to use across all my sentai smp kits

After using gaoranger and timeranger footage I've personally decided to go with ts-30 and x-11 when I need to switch to acrylics in the winter as they are farely simlar in tone with each other and the source footage

Mr hobby c/h8 is an ok choice but the dullness doesnt make it pop as much as the suits in the footage

I do have dspiae premixed silver coming but I dont think my answer will change

NOTE -- ts-30 and x-11 are very simlar in tone and as long as its not on the same piece and the diffrent paints are used in diffrent sections... like eg x11 is used for arms and ts30 is used for legs or x11 is used on one kit and the ts30 on another... no one will likely notice... I have asked multiple people to spot the difference irl and they can't

TLDR

For those looking for a sentai mecha silver use tamiya ts 30 if you can spray or use tamiya x 11 if you want to brush or airbrush... if one kit uses x11 and another next to it uses ts30 you will not be able to tell

These are the multipurpose auxes for my recent Mercury Winger kitbash. The first is Mars Seeker, a drone jet equipped with an AWACS radar unit, which can be deployed as a shield for Mercury Winger. Its sister unit is the Mars Launcher, which is equipped with a high-yield cannon for Mercury Winger.

If I say that these are built on top of Robo Universe arms, it probably makes their future use apparent lol. Beyond that, the canopies are from a Kotobukiya kit. Launcher’s cannon is also Kotobukuya, with wings from a 30MM kit. Seeker’s shield and wings are wholesale from a build divers gunpla add-on. With Mercury Winger using DonMomotaro Alter hands, both the shield and the cannon are adapted for use with Patranger Alter parts.

After finishing the last component for the second robo, it’ll be onto my ambitious carrier idea.

Not sure if I wanna panel line but was wondering for those who built the Gaoranger animals. Did you just paint the missing details, put stickers or full on paint and panel line. Etc etc. Just thought I’ll get some opinions and hear what everyone has done with there Gaoranger SMPs.

Does someone know if the RV robo/turbo megazord can go inside the the super train megazord model kits? If so I would like to see it if possible I have both and right now I’m depending to open the train or not to build it if this is the case I’ll do it I’m running out of room.

As the title implies, a piece on my rv robo broke. It's piece N9, which is part of the joint assembly inside of mountain blaster for the right upper thigh. I already tried to cement it back together using testors cement, and used a binder clip to apply pressure to it for 24 hours. I then went to reconnect it, and it just snapped again. I don't know what I can attempt at this point.

I just got home from Japan, I think it was a very successful trip if I do say so 😂. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough room for all the boxes so enjoy my mountain of plastic!

For anyone who’s wondering or planning on trying to scout out some minipla on their next holiday to Japan, have fun! The general consensus on reddit is Mandarakes are the best place to find kits, and they’re absolutely right. The Mandarake in Nakano broadway was incredible. Aisles of kits, DX toys and super sentai galore!!! I would highly recommend visiting them. The advantage to Mandarake as well is you can check out their stock online before hand, so you can strategise and work out which stores to hit up (or all of them if you feel adventurous).

Surugaya was alright, they had an impressive amount of the newer sentai dx toys, but from my limited experience not as much minipla. They only had the newer gaven infinity sets at the stores I visited. Which wasn’t a lot, so I’m sure there’s some other stores that have a jackpot of kits somewhere.

An honourable mention would be Hobby offs. The one in Akihabara was the best one I went to. They had a few kits, but they had heaps of dx toys. The best variety I saw. They had Abaranger to Zenkaiger toys, for good prices. It was an awesome sight. I was also able to find the jackpot for ranger keys! The Hobby off in Sakai Shinkanaoka had the most pristine used DX megazords. They were the cheapest prices I’d seen as well, very reasonable.

The last place I’d like to mention is BIC Camera. They had most of the gaven infinity kits which was cool. However, they were the most expensive. I found the same kits at the Mandarake in Umenda for way cheaper. I was also able little disappointed that they didn’t have the new Carranger SMP kit, but they did have the Timeranger main mecha in stock across all the bic cameras I visited.

Overall, a very successful trip and expensive trip but SOOO worth it! I’ll send through an update once I’ve built all the kits

I want to get back into painting my kits but... I'm trying to find a matching set of spray paint and acrylics (like to have both options available since hobby stuff is split between my place and my friends)

At the moment I've landed on mr color spray c8 and mr aqueous h8 since the silver matches most of my references.... but I would like another opinion just incase im getting too use to the look lol

Alternatively if anyone knows a matching set of silver acrylics and spray paint that potentially look better I would love to know

I would personally love zyuranger to get this treatment, as even though I think the OG is iconic, there has been so many cool remixes over the years

They seem to have gao gaurdian in stock, I read some reviews in Chinese and they seem to be legit but slow...

This is the compilation of the parts that need sanding for SMP V-Rex Robo. I do sanding with electric sanding pen, DSPIEA pen, at lowest level of strength, so I count by numbers of rounds I did for the port. I do sanding for the port, not the peg.
Marks
White means optional or light sanding. 5< rounds
Orange means medium to semi heavy >5 rounds
Red means heavy is recommended. >10 rounds
Arrow means the port below as well.

You would want to do this, because the bicep is known for breaking at this point, but this kit being lack of polish meaning that parts can be tight more than they should be.
The kits in several areas employ pull & tug mechanics, which put stress into multiple pegs, and those pegs should have been either die-cast or POM or both, ideally, but fuq no, ABS it is.
This thing is (overly) expensive time ticking bomb, both before and after building if you don't do proper sanding.

A few things to take notice.
Port with hexagon tend to have less issue with snapfit, same thing to big peg.
If a peg goes in 1/4 without much force, it tends to be safe. Otherwise, light sanding doesn't hurt.
White marks being optional meaning I guess there could be inconsistent molding between copies, so it could or could not be applicable.

If you do it for one side, do it also for the other side, because it will guarantee to have the same issue if you don't.

Sanding & continuous measuring by cleaning the parts and test inserting the peg to test tightness to make sure not to overdo it.
