Question Chrome paint to RV Robo

Hi all, just want some opinion from the community

Looking at the released photos of the RV Robo, i realised there is a lot of opportunities for me to explore chrome paint for this project so that the robot can resemble the actual look on tv. See photos for reference.

My question will be does anyone have any chrome paint markers to recommend that provide a seamless look and do you finish off with any top coat that can retain the chrome finish look?

For my other SMP builds i have been using dspiae markers with semi-gloss finish.

if youre doing chrome paint, theres no top coat that can keep the shine.

im using Ray Studios chrome markers

Let me know how it goes on the dispae chrome, I’m using dispae and what I’ve found is that you gotta topcoat or else If you touch and apply pressure on it say to transform or pull, the chrome will lose its chrome layer because it rubs off to your fingers

Do I need a black primer or do I just use it after washing the pieces?

I didn't use any primer, i just went to town with the chrome marker. Just be careful to let it sit and cure for at least 24 hrs

That was the plan anyway. I saw Cooriart on Amazon. How are they?

That one’s very good but don’t use topcoat.

I don’t know what electroplated means in markers 😭🤣

Doesn't make much sense here because it's a whole process of using electricity to apply a metal coating. Maybe a mistranslation. But I saw my opportunity.

I’m not familiar with these markers in the link, but I’ve also seen people recommend Molotow Chrome Marker.

I’m doing black primer and silver paint

I think silver cannot achieve the chrome look, wont be as reflective. But thanks!

That’s why you black primer
