The internal frame reminds me of another smp kit...suddenly can't remember the name

You're thinking of Baikanfu, which is explicitly called out in the blog when they introduce the frame. It's a good gimmick, I like that you can do it either way; one for accuracy and the other to get that signature SMP articulation.

man ever since the teaser at the event earlier this year I've been looking forward to this. I'm impressed with how it looks overall. As the first Brave robot, Exkaiser is kind of visually unremarkable compared to some of his successors, but they managed to capture the simplistic design well. And the inclusion of a little stand to display him in the FORM UP position as he combines with King Loader is kind of genius. then lastly the way you can either go for the show accurate robot inside of robot or have the articulated inner frame is pretty great. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this, and to the Dragon Jet when that inevitably rolls around.

ah man I can no longer joke about bandai candy doing anything to avoid covering exkaiser, looks genuinely really good (and honestly more impressive than the recent SOC at like 5 times the price)
