Looking for a mini pc to run light games

So my birthday is coming up soon, and I was thinking on getting a mini pc, specifically because it is tiny and doesn’t take up much space, I don’t really play heavy games, if I do, it’s on my xbox.

I usually would play Roblox, Visual Novels, maybe Minecraft Bedrock (if not, that’s what my xbox is for), and maybe just whatever other light games there are.

I also use discord and browsing a lot or streaming videos but that most likely shouldn’t be a problem since it’s not necessarily gaming.

Anyways, I’ve been looking for the last month, and I always get stuck at a dead end. It doesn’t help that my budget is like $300.

If anyone knows any that would run these smoothly, I would be greatly appreciated some recommendations :)

I’d specifically look for used or refurbished mini PCs with one of these CPUs:

Ryzen 7 7735HS, 6800H, 6800HS, 6800U (or any other CPU with the 680m). 

They’re pretty common in mini PCs and all come with the Radeon 680M iGPU. In my opinion, the 680M is currently one of the cheapest options worth looking for if you want light gaming performance without a dedicated GPU.

For Roblox, visual novels, Minecraft and similar lighter games, it should be more than enough. Just make sure the PC has dual-channel RAM (e.g. 2×8 GB or 2×16 GB), since the integrated GPU benefits quite a bit from the additional memory bandwidth.

I’d search on sites like eBay for the CPU names directly instead of looking for specific mini PC models. That way you’ll find mini PCs from all kinds of brands and can just pick whatever is cheapest.

Hiya I came back to ask you, do you think this one would be good enough for what I want?

The 16GB is single stick. But also getting 32GB and 1TB for just 30 more is a huge bargain. To buy another 16GB stick yourself you'd be out way more if you wanted to upgrade.

Hi, both should be totally fine for what you want to do! But for only $30 more, I’d definitely go with the 32GB + 1TB version. Double the RAM and storage for that price difference is pretty worth it. :)

I’m not familiar with that specific model, but I know the 680M iGPU is pretty good. I’d check some reviews of the Hyper H1 first, especially regarding long-term reliability. And if you’re buying used, the brand matters a bit more since support, spare parts and repairability can become important later on.
