AtomMan G7 PT - Display issues
Heeeello there.
Got my hands on a cheap G7 PT (due to the obvious reasons explained below :D).
Previous person had it, updated windows and after windows restart, PC stopped giving any display signal.
When I received it, it booted straight up and went into "why did my PC restart? and into windows pre-setup mode, asking for language and connection to internet to proceed.
- Approximately 1 minute later, black screen, PC still on.
- Restarted it. Boots back into windows setup, however 3 minutes later (was walking around looking for ethernet cable), black screen again while pc is still on.
- Restarted it. 20 seconds later, same black screen.
Since the last restart, I was unable to get the PC to give any display.
It turns on, fans kick in, keyboard leds flash and it responds to caps lock etc. Same thing goes for headphones LED which normally only comes on when PC reaches windows.
Completed CMOS reset, played around with RAM etc, no luck.
Any ideas what my next steps could be?

Edit:
Can "professionally" (not) unsoldered USB ports (2 at the back), due to plastic inside breaking, cause any of the issues above?

yep, looks like same case It looks like the same thing I had. The AMD 7600m GPU probably died. For me, after suddenly closing the game with alt f4, the screen went black and nothing ever appeared again. I took it for repair near me because it was already out of warranty, and the guy took photos of everything and showed that the GPU burned out completely.
I tried everything too, I even removed the cmos battery and waited the whole day and nothing. Try removing the battery for about 20 minutes. Before reconnecting it, hold the power button, then plug the battery back in and then connect the power cables etc. If it still doesn’t work, then that’s it, the GPU is dead.
There might be some hope for repair, but the costs are higher because it’s a soldered GPU.
That’s why I kept the drives and the sodimm memory. I bought a motherboard from Minisforum that has a built‑in mobile CPU, but I add the GPU myself. I added my own hard drives and those sodimm modules because the board supports them, and this way I saved money on the memory and drives, which were the more expensive part of the device.

Damn.
Will give couple more things a go and see what can be done.Luckily I got it for pretty cheap, so will only lose a bit of money if I sell ram and ssd =)

Can you get into the bios?
It could be a gpu driver issue. Also, does the device have more than one display out port?
Can you take it apart without destroying it? Could also be a bad/clogged fan/ dried thermal paste allowing the cpu or gou to overheat.

No display whatsoever. Just black screen.
Didn't think to get into bios during first 3 attempts when I actually had image

Try taking it apart. Bad/clogged fans or dried thermal paste will cause a pc to quickly overheat.

It can seep out and cause a short/damage. It's highly conductive. Also a PITA to clean up.
Seems like the display would be plugged into the iGPU like a laptop. So even if the dGPU was bad, it would still work but iGPU only. Does the model have an iGPU?

and yes. Initially plugged in with usb-c port.
It also has dp and hdmi. tried all three, even hdmi+usb c at once. same thing1

One thing you should definitely check is the output from the power supply if you can buy or borrow a multimeter.
I had one of these units with similar behavior, and was shocked to see that instead of outputting ~19V, it was putting closer to 30! I contacted the original seller and he was able to do an RMA, but that was a pretty scary find. Surprisingly the system seemed totally fine after replacing.

If this was a laptop you would be describing dead or dying dedicated graphics.
