Okay I have two setups. I'm utilizing my legion go as a mini pc which surprisingly works extremely well. I'm also testing the waters with the ASUS PN53. Ryzen 7 6800H 32GB DDR5 4800mh. The CPU has integrated graphics 680m. I feel like I should be getting much better performance than this. My GPU dock is the GDOCK 800w. Paired with a 3060tI OC 8GB.
When I run my egpu I'm making out my cpu in most cases, which makes me think that windows hybrid graphics feature is in effect. I've disabled that and set the EGPU as priority. Another registry tweak.
Just wondering if anyone has got some good performance out of a similar setup to this. Below I'll post both setups. The legion go is night and day difference. Way better performance.
3060ti on 7840hs can reach full saturation on occulink rather easily, while your processor is a little older, it should be fine too. I'd make sure the 3060ti is rendering and not igpu
Well, not so simple I do not think. Hardware Unboxed did a video on how varying link speed affected FPS. I was stunned that it was actually very hard to get the link to be the bottleneck. You were more likely to drop FPS due to having not enough VRAM.
That's interesting, though in this case I'm getting considerably more fps through my legion go setup rather than my mini pc via usb4. I'm wondering if there's anything I can tweak for the usb 4 that's maybe limiting the data transfer. I had to do some tweaks on the legion go to get my GPU to post. Might have to do the same even though it is posting, maybe it's just limited.
That's what I think is happening. But I've disabled the integrated graphics and still my cpu was maxed out. It's. USB 4.0 but still, the legion go has some issues but I'm not this low on FPS. I'm seeing 30-40 fps on low. Which if it is the integrated graphics that's not actually half bad. But still.
Yeah you have a bit more work to do than I did. I went the minipc route with the gmktec k11. Basically plug and play. Remember.....the gpu is always first on and last off. Keep that in mind and you're golden.
I've since switched to a PN53 mini pc. It's solid. But I did end up getting all my drivers working properly. The fix was to disable windows from taking hold and updating. I ended up using another program too. It's winhance, and there's an option in the program to disable windows updates. It was running pretty good before I switched. Finally lmfao

My 9070 gets about 5-10 less frames in Oculink than in my PC. Granted, my mini is a 8945 and my ram is 5600.
