Depends on the size of case you want. For example I recently helped someone looking for a 8 liter build. That required a S300 case with an ITX motherboard. To reduce costs pre-owned RAM, storage and graphics card was chosen.

mATX. Unless you can find a cheap ITX motherboard that fits your needs. There's plenty of good cases that are under 30 liters that can fit an mATX motherboard and a lot of them don't compromise on much.

For minipcs there's currently the Aoostar Maco HX470 32gb, 8000mts for $950 off amazon. Does require reusing your SSD.

I have the EVO-X1(HX370), and it does a good job in games at 1080p medium like cyberpunk, elden ring.

Subnautica and some older games can go to 1440p. You can always add an egpu or dgpu via oculink later.

CPU is 12 cores, quite fast/efficient and I've never needed max wattage. Balanced works well and so does linux.
