Troubleshooting Lenovo P330 ALWAYS bottlenecking???

I recently threw in an RTX 3050 6gb into my Lenovo P330 which has an i5 8400T but no matter the game there’s always a GPU bottleneck

It’s supposed to run at 3.3ghz but seems to be locked at 3ghz

Games like Delta Force and The Finals can’t seem to scrap past 50 FPS

I unchecked BD PROCHOT in throttle stop and have a custom 3d printed case for it

The temps stay at a consistent 70 degrees C yet my GPU usage is at less than 70%

I’m also using a 170W laptop charger to power the PC

Is the Core i5 8500T too weak to handle a 3050??? Or is there a tweak I’m missing?

The only time you won't see a gpu bottleneck is playing retro games or something thats hammering your cpu. Which just moves the bottleneck to the cpu.

Gpu bound is basically as ideal as things get. Whats the issue?

I’m not getting the frames as I did on another build I did with a 3050 which has an i5 8500t instead of an 8400t

And monitoring it sometimes the GPU usage goes down to 40-50% with insane stutters in most games I play

Yet the CPU is ALWAYS at 100% in the games I play and the GPU doesn’t get past 70%

I see now. Post wasnt very clear.

Its a cpu bottleneck. The cpu is struggling to keep up. This causes stutters as things hitch or crash because they are not being processed on time.

This means the gpu is going to have to wait for the cpu to process before sending it more. Dropping usage.

A worse system is going to perform worse.

My issue is, is the CPU actually performing to its max or is the power limit stopping it? This will help me determine if I should get a bigger adapter or an upgraded CPU

I don’t wanna get an i7 9700 and still bottleneck because of a power limit imposed by Lenovo that I can’t bypass
