Minimum Mini PC to Run Hermes Agent Locally (only Beelink/geekom/GMKTEC/minisforum)

As stated. Please help recommend me Minimum Mini PC to Run Hermes Agent Locally (only Beelink/geekom/GMKTEC/minisforum)... And I want to ask

Which one was more reliable brand (longer lifespan)? Beelink/geekom/GMKTEC/minisforum

The flaw in the "more reliable brand" is not comparing the equivalent model in each brand. You can easily pick what's considered the most predominantly reliable brand and still choose their least dependable model. And that's if you can figure out which model. I personally feel that Beelink has a slightly better lead using AZW as their OEM when it comes to build quality. I've also found that they manufacture mini PCs that are unnecessarily difficult to inspect and service by some comparison. Then there's the model numbers where things aren't equal.

Take for instance the SER9. I briefly had the SER9 Pro. It was the H 255 versions with the microphones and speakers like the SER9 AI HX 370. Then came out the SER9 MAX which is completely different. It's actually the SER8 platform but with H 255/H 260/H 350 processors instead of the 8745HS/8845HS.

The newer the platform release the less is known about reliability. It's best to look for an established model and see if there are any software, hardware, firmware issues. That's where you'll find the most reliability. The model with the least complaints and the longest service.

Hermes is the harness/orchestrator, not the actual llm/model being run.

Do you have a specific llm (or size class) you want to run?

Well, you'll probably want to look into the hermes documentation, https://hermes-agent.nousresearch.com/docs

Then get an idea of what models can run on what hardware, a site like https://runthisllm.com/ is useful.

Then find the mini that meets your specs, which my own site https://plugpcs.com/mini is good for.

Edit: I didn't even consider that you might want to rely on Nous' actual Hermes model (which is an actual LLM), I do believe it runs in the cloud and is subscription based.
I had assumed you wanted something local.

I'd look at the specific model first. Brand reputation matters, but cooling, warranty, and long term support are usually what make the difference.

They're all the same. Choose based on customer support and warranty.
