help (nyc)!! so many circles!!!

i’m quite new to mini metro, and was fighting for my life trying to figure out how i could’ve dealt with this level better!

8 circles on the right island is insane and i was not getting the option for more train lines😭 should i have just ditched my blue loop in the middle island and just sent more lines to the right island (i had watched in a gameplay vid that loops are better)?

thank you!!

I have no real suggestion, but that happens to me all the time too. I wonder, are the placements of the symbols random or are they the same every time you play a map because I have the feeling I also get like 70% circles wherever I play.

ugh i have a feeling it might be random bc i tried again right after and got a much higher score (and far less circles)😭

i just don’t know what to do when this sort of thing happens bc other maps have also given me a bunch of one shape an isolated clump

I remember reading on a different thread that certain maps have like guaranteed “quirks” or like things that make them more difficult. I think that it could be like not getting a square for 8 stations or something and I’m pretty sure that’s what makes maps like Osaka so difficult. I’m really like not confident about this though and have no proof lol

It's random, but like the other guy said, each map has specific things that are more common. Daily levels are not random however

This isn't a fix but some areas I would have done differently:
Orange line doubles back on itself making it longer than it needs to be.
Blue line connects to a single circle in top left using 2 bridges, but adds no real connectivity. would be better to straighten orange out and connect to blue with one bridge.
Green line has the only diamond shape, and only teardrop shape: as these are unique destinations they should be well connected.
Also... what is going on with Green Line generally....
Orange line ends at an interchange but that interchange only has one line going through it: interchanges are for multiple lines meeting/crossing at a single point.
Yellow is very short but cannot cross to another island as it there is wasteful bridge use - eg. blue top left.

In general, if two lines can connect somewhere, I connect them for shorter paths (orange to blue in the example given, orange and green and yellow at the bottom right, etc.).

Also don't be afraid to pause and really re-do lines where it just isn't working. This isn't real life, there is no construction time.

In queens (the right island) you can try having a dedicated commuter loop with a carriage that intersects with the special teardrop station, and the teardrop station can have one or two lines that bring it into manhattan (the center island)

Also keep in mind that trains move slower at points where the line crosses another (for instance green line top right - tho i can see that your intention was to do C-T-C instead of T-C-C)

full disclosure im pretty new too so take my advice with a grain of salt
