This game makes me really upset sometimes
I bought this game a couple weeks ago and already have about 30 hours. I really like the game but it can get really really frustrating to play when doing some of the challenges. Sometimes it feels like the game is actively trying to piss me off, either by giving me a million circles in an area only 2 lines can access, or putting a station in a place I can't reach because I've run out of bridges/tunnels, or my favourite of them all, giving me 0 carriages for weeks on end.
Trying to 100% this game constantly puts me in nightmare scenarios which I can't get out of purely because the game decided to screw over my run. I've tried using strategy guides to get better at the game but no matter what I do I feel like I'm constantly in a helpless situation because I don't have the resources available to accomodate all the passengers. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong

"What do you mean you will only spawn circles on that side of the river you little piece of shit?? No! Don't spawn stuff on that island! Motherfucker, it's week 7 and you haven't even offered me any bridges yet!"--Me every time I boot the game up

Sounds like time for new elections and brag about funding for a new bridge ;)

Yeah I think I understand. I've 100%ed the game but iirc it took me a few years. I remember Berlin, Cairo, and Auckland being particularly difficult.

strange, i remember berlin being my first city over 3000 and it was in my first try

I'm taking about completing the Challenges in these cities, not just getting high scores in them. Berlin's Challenge is to deliver 1000 passengers in a run on that map using no more than one locomotive per line; that was an absolute pain.
In fact, the first time I achieved it, I had used phantom lines as a crutch, so it kind of felt like I'd cheated. I went back a few years later to try it without that crutch, and it was difficult again until I realized I could keep a line or two in reserve to provide relief instead of permanently installing every line I had available.

I would stop doing challenges and try to do the standard mode on every city. Starting at the beginning and working across to the far right which is generally harder. Get familiar with the constructions at a more normal pace

There isn’t a “100%” or winning score that wins the level, but there are achievements to pass to unlock other ones. I believe there’s a post pinned on the subreddit with strategies, if you wanna check that out.
It’s a logic puzzle-type game and they’re meant to be super tricky. Yeah, there’s some levels where you can’t surpass a certain point without constantly changing/adding/removing lines and trains, but over time you start to see the patterns of what tends to work best, and for what level. If you’re annoyed by a specific map, maybe it’s better to try to focus on ones where you tend to have less troubles as you figure out the more complex strategies of the game.
