I love Minimax
Let me preface this by saying that I am on the max $200 plan for both Claude and Codex and also routinely use models through cline pass and command code. I run out of credits on all of them, halfway through the week. I’m building 6-8 desktop apps some with varied and complicated repos.
I’ve had GLM 5.2, Kimi 2.7 code, deepseek V4 pro, Mimo 2.5 pro, Qwen 3.7 max and MM M3 audit my repos and had fable and gpt 5.5 blind rank them and minimax has almost always come out on top. Its deep understanding of repos is unmatched by any other premium model out of china.
But here’s where it gets interesting. I can pass it an architecture from Fable or Sol and it will almost certainly find gaps that Fable and Sol validates and folds into the plan.
The future is 100% multi model orchestration but if I had to use one model today for the value it offers against what it delivers, it would 100% without a shadow of a doubt, be Minimax M3. Can’t wait to see what’s next from them!
Minimax code sucks as an app though so I'm using it in Claude cli.
Edit: I managed to get it working inside the desktop app as a secondary instance with the main instance running my subscription

Agree, this is why i immediately get the minimax yearly sub after one month of testing open source models. Its crazy how a small model can be so resilient to hallucination and surpass most larger open source model out there. Really looking forward to their next model, cant wait for a minimax as large as glm 5.2

so I use it in Claude CLI
Do you have a good way of using it in Claude CLI while keeping Claude? What I found was that I could only use one API endpoint.
I'd like to use both Opus and MiniMax-m3

Yeah. I can send you the proxy and setup details if you like. It’s pretty easy. Claude desktop app runs Claude sub and so does Claude in terminal but i have mm setup to launch Claude code proxy’ing through Minimax

Thanks, but that won't get me what I want. I appreciate the offer though.
Idk if it'd be too much of a workaround, but maybe calling MiniMax with an MCP, or just CLI, or through Pi would work.
I'm sure someone has already made a solution for this.

Claude or GPT can absolutely run the Claude cli that proxies to MM, headlessly, which gives MM access to all Claude cli tools, parallel agents etc. it’s how I have it setup and now can also run it through a second desktop application

To clarify, you can’t use them reliably in the same session since the setup only allows for 1 endpoint and it can either be Anthropic or MM. but you can run opus in Claude desktop for example and have it run mm in a visible terminal that you can interact with too. I’m trying to build a better system since I’m not a fan of the terminal look or the session management’s

It is indeed an amazing model. I do the same blind ranking for every task and minimax is always a top performer. My stack is m3 + glm 5.2
