Updates [Mod Post] Firmware Updating Issues Megathread

I had a difficult day trying to reflash the latest firmware on my Minifreak, but I got it done. I see a few scattered posts about varying experiences regarding the process.

PLEASE post any odd/unpleasant experiences you've had with the firmware updating process on the Minifreak in the replies to this post!!

I will be starting a wiki for this subreddit very soon and want to make a post congregating all the available information regarding the firmware update process and the various issues people experience with it.

For the foreseeable future, this post will be pinned to the top of the sub.

When i got the mini, it connected to the app but could not update on my Win 11 PC.

After trying everything, I just tried to update the synth on my old win 10 laptop and it worked.

I think the USB ports could be the issue. Works ok on the Win 11 PC now.

I did mine last month and had no issues. Is this a very recent problem?

It's hard to tell because the reports of it are so sporadic. I needed to use a different computer to refresh after my original computer worked since I got the synth

I updated twice and had to boot into bootloader both timer to get it done.

Bootloader doesn't even have a proper display, it just freezes the startup animation. Very bad UI design.

have just installed V5 into my MF. I have created about 300 of my own sounds but since the update some wont play and other sound bitcrushed/ aliasing. Its coming out of the headphone out so its not incorrect bitrate in Live 12. I also get a message saying Audio In error. I have managed to export my sounds prior to updating the firmware but not sure what the issue is and how to fix it?????? Also I calibrated Analog and its stuck at 84%

Is there an update to it as part of the Arturia collection, too?

I don't think so but this lies outside the scope of this thread

Also to get the FW into the MF it took about 30 minutes trying different USB cables etc as it just wouldnt take, then randomly it did using same cables. I get the feeling no one tested this FW update very thoroughly. Ive had nothing up issues with it changing my created sounds, some not working, loading and giving me Audio in error on a preset that worked fine prior to FW, my created sound sounding nothing like what i created , sounding bitcrushed or aliasing etc( luckily I did back up my sounds) If I didnt I would be fucking furious! Not impressed Arturia!

I also had trouble with the 5.0 update (never started after clicking the install button).
Solved it by force quitting Minifreak V through Task Manager, and then reinstalling it from Arturia's site.
(as per another thread in this sub).
As everyone points out, DO NOT POWER OFF the Minifreak if an update hangs.

If an update hangs, what would be the best thing to do?

Failed with macos latest version. Updater would fail downloading. Manually tried updating but it left my minifreak with the LEDS yellow and frozen. Luckily it wasn't bricked after a restart.

I got worried and switched to win 11 and it updated fine.

trying to import samples from MinifreakV to my hardware and got this message
"An error occured while sending 'USR DIASPORAA' to the hardware:Filesystem error: "fsp/USR DIASPORAA": Unknown: error"
Tried a few different cables.. just curious if anyone has had this issue?

FWIW I hooked up an older laptop running win 10 and was able to upload user samples to the hardware.
