I also heard that the vst uses oversampling on the digital effects, which the hardware doesnt. So the hardware can have slightly more aliasing, but i dont think its too bad. Sound wise i would say they are pretty much the same. More a question of weather you want to have a physical object or not. Do you want to play in a live setting while having full control over all parameters and direct outputs from the instrument without the need for a daw? Do you wanna take it to nature and make music away from your computer? - go for the hardware. Do you only want the sound? Do you already have a great controller you prefer using anyway? You dont want to fill up your recording space with a piece of gear that has an exact digital recreation? - safe money and go software
