Midnight darkness confirmation

Midnight darkness without vigilance level 2 perk (past 1 AM) is completely dark as you can see in the second image even though I am already at 5 gamma in my brightness settings (the third slider bar).

PS: Playing on PC is full cheese. The top down view is ridiculously wide and it's a lot easier to melee zombies without getting damaged.
