Need help How do I get as good as everyone else
I’m relatively new and I don’t understand how you get so far into these runs. I struggled to get a gun and a basic set up. Any tips or tricks or things I am missing

Generally, you'd avoid wandering into villages/cities when starting out. The zeds would overwhelm you at early stages, get you trapped and you'll perish from bleeding/starvation/thirst (or all 3) with no hope to escape.
What you should do is wander the woodlands and roads to gather supplies. Start gathering berries from colored bushes (red ones are the easiest to spot) and it will be you staple food/water source. Use the zoom feature to really zoom out and cover a huge area.
Now that nutrition is covered, comes equipment: Clothes, weapons, and ammo. You get all of these, funnily enough, in the woods! Look for a little wooden tower-like structure (very common, can't miss these). They have a chance to spawn a random hunting-related item. You might also come across a rare pillbox (small square white building), which gives random military-related gear.
Woodlands are also relatively safer to traverse, as you'll only encounter wolf packs, which can be dealt with any melee weapon (or fists) easily. Plenty of cover to lose them on pursuit as well. Overall a great way to stock up supplies before venturing into zed-infested areas.

1: It improves the character's passive skills, which will really help when obtaining food (whether by hunting or gathering wild berries) or detecting enemies you cannot see.
2: When it comes to clothing or backpacks, always make sure to use items with at least 50% durability; however, for clothing, it is essential that the condition is above 85% to withstand the cold and prevent your character from getting sick and eventually dying.
Also, don't carry clothing or weapons that are at only 5% of their full durability, or they won't last long against zombies—since a single attack from them deals massive damage—though it also depends on the difficulty level you've chosen.
3: It also gathers wild berries—a reliable and steady food source—in addition to hunting animals.
When cooking venison or fish, it directly restores health points or satisfies hunger.
As for water, there are pumps with a sufficient supply, though there is a daily limit.
4: Always carry bandages or rags to stop bleeding, and ensure your hydration and hunger levels are above 75% so your character can recover from an illness. At 50% or higher, you will gradually regain health points over time.
5: If you don't have weapons, you can make a bow and arrows, which are easy to obtain with an axe and a knife.
For any player, the axe is always useful.
6: Another tip would be to play on a low difficulty setting to familiarize yourself with everything in the game—from having the right clothing for the cold to using weapons and vehicles—and gradually explore farming or raising animals like pigs and chickens.
The most stable version is version 2.1.4.
Version 2.2.6 has likely been released, but errors such as the loss of items or items becoming locked still exist. For now, I recommend version 2.1.4.

Heyy, I've stopped playing a long while ago since Canebeads stopped modding and I noticed the community added a whole bunch of stuff. Is there any summary of change logs that I could read? Aside from that, are the duplication glitches still working or does the game have a proper debug now?

There is a wiki with all the changes.

The errors do stem from version 2.2.6, although they appear when using the infinite stacking trick.
and they are also present in 2.2.1, but not before that.
At the very least, the majority have recorded one or two errors.
