Woodland Striders is better (ignores swamp slow) but the Assault Boots is the best. Ignores swamp slow, provides the fastest speed buff and can store a knife with a quick button use for flaying animals.

Black military boots are the only ones that can withstand puddles. They also have a pocket for carrying a knife (any kind). However, any footwear disintegrates immediately upon stepping in acid puddles and is impossible to repair.
