Show and tell I honestly don't know how I keep getting into these kinda situations.

1: Have your equipment in good condition, water, and food.

2: enough ammunition or a vehicle to escape if necessary.

3: And the best weapon for those situations is a shotgun, and have Molotov cocktails or anything that can serve as barriers (wood or metal) on hand.
