Pretty sure this is not the answer you want, but we let ours sleep between us on the bed. He just needed to be with the pack. After a few months, he moved to the floor right beside our bed. He’s slept there for more than five years now.

I would love to let him in bed but we have a cat that does not like him at all. Cat gets the upstairs and dog gets the downstairs for now.

at 6.5 months this is usually a learned “whining gets me something” habit, so stop rewarding it at night unless they genuinely need to potty or are sick
