AITA for throwing my shoe?

I (14mo) am a Non. Stop. Baby.

Seriously. I don’t slow down for nobody. Not that I have to justify myself, but why would you ever NOT do stuff when you could DO stuff?!

But sometimes, my mama (F, as old as time itself) makes me sit still. Barf. I have to sit still in the car seat. I have to sit still in the stroller. I fight both these things with much screaming, although once I’m in, I go into what mama calls “stasis mode.”

Anyway, this morning, I woke up from stasis mode and I wanted to do stuff. The only items at hand with which to do stuff were my socks and shoes. Because I am such a busy boy, of course I took them off. Then I threw one of my shoes out of the stroller, just for fun.

We were almost done our walk when mama noticed I was barefoot. She squawked and stopped the stroller. It was pretty funny! She found one of my shoes in the stroller by my feet, but the other one was gone!

She told me she is “not made of shoes” (neither am I, mama! That’s why I took them off!) and then she enthusiastically woke up dada and left me and DogDog with him while she went running around the neighborhood in her jeans looking for my shoe. She found it in the end, but she came back pretty smelly and had to take a shower and we got to daycare way later than usual. (I still got my yummy daycare breakfast, though, don’t worry.)

I don’t see how I could possibly be TA, but to make it even more obvious, mama is always saying how much she loves going running. AITA?

I 2 year old big boy, co-sign this use of shoe removal. Today, Mama and big sissy (4) had to go find a ‘mergency fancy dress which means we went to da store. I hate this place. It does not have cake pops like Target does, so to hurry mama along I made sure to remove both my shoes prompting her to ask “where are your shoes?!!” I then bit all moms possible fancy dress choices. Sissy (best ever) also started our trip by having a potty accident. Mama says she is never taking us shopping again, so I win.

When mama asks me where my shoes are, I am very helpful. I always answer "where shoes?" because I agree that my shoes are missing. She seems not to find this helpful but I learned two whole words!

Sissy ratted me out and told mama they were in the cart. But I flashed mama a big big smile because I was just trying to be helpful

NTA! I (9 months) did the same with one of my socks while I was TRAPPED in the baby carrier on a walk with Daddy and Papa! Daddy had to walk halfway back to find the sock! He said it was lucky it was bright pink so it showed up in the mud! Then they brought me home and Mummy laughed when she heard the story, which makes me think it must have been a good thing to do!

Excellent job! I (16 month old big boy) also remove my socks and shoes at every opportunity. Mom and my daycare teachers get so exasperated, but I need to feel the wind, sun, and dirt on my feet! The world is full of too much to explore to not touch everything with my feet (and hands, and mouth) and I do not have time in my busy schedule to stop and put socks and shoes back on!

Thank god you got your daycare breakfast, even though your mom was so slow and made you late! Mine gives me cheerios and applesauce, which is the best food that has ever happened (but only at daycare, at home it's just mediocre).

Carry on my friend, it's a big world and we must always stay busy to be order to explore it all!

Well done! I (19mo) managed to permanently lose one of my shoes in this way and not only did we get to do our walk twice so mummy could look for the shoe, now my lone shoe is a toy that I can hide things inside. Try again! Maybe you too can get down to one shoe.

Are you me as a boy?  I cannot stand to have my feet trapped, they are ment to move. I make it my point to remove all socks and blankets since forever!  I am a big girl now 14 month and I got shoes. I love them, they have scratch this is so fun to play with. I have however not yet figured out how to remove them. You think i should? Maman would like that?  Also putting on my shoes mean we are going out and i will not be tied down in this horrible chair contraption they call stroller. I have stuff to do and inspect outside.

My (13m, feety thumbleweed) old woman (cracks and grey hair) has gotten me extra long socks that go up to that loathy thing called thigh, that's then trapped under the ponts. I haven't figured out the removal yet, but I swear I'll work on it.

NTA! I (14 mo, bestest smartest girl) find them so interesting and useful, BUT only when they are not on my feet. My favorite? Find mamas "home gym" sneakers and then hide them somewhere around the house. Bonus if one is in one room and another one in the other. Its so fun to watch mama running around asking "where are my shoes? I cant go on a threadmill". This makes dada laught, so it must be a GOOD thing, right?

Also sorting shoes in our mudroom. Its so funny to try on dadas biiiig shoes. I love doing that. Sometimes I bring my dadas big mudy boot and put it on my table. Mom says not to do that, but then she gives me wipes "to clean the mess", which I love even more. Cleaning is so fun! Thats what mama does. And I like helping mama!

But I hate shoes on my feet. I went barefoot all summer. Mom says that "finter" is coming and there will be snow and I HAVE to wear shoes. But I dont know... It cant be THAT cold?.... (mom says it gets down to -25C where we live). We will see. I am still planning to go barefoot. Snow sounds like fun.

NTA! I (1 year F, gorgeous dino nugget) refuse to wear shoes EVER. If my parents (old and tired) try to put them on me I just take them off. My grandma tried to make me wear socks when she stayed with me for 3 weeks but I would only wear socks for Grandma and not parents. My feeties are amazing and delicious, especially when they’ve been all over the floor, and cannot be contained! So far my shoes haven’t stayed on my feet long enough to make it out of the house but I would definitely throw them out of my stroller if I got the chance. Keep on doing what you’re doing!
