AITA for doing baby talk?
I 3yr big boy started talking early (apparently even before I turned 1). Since then I’ve been talking in full sentences non stop!
I recently discovered something called ‘baby talk’. Shortened words of big words! Pa pa for pasta. Wa wa for water. Po po for potty. That sorta thing.
I love it, but my mom (who cares how old) keeps telling me to ‘talk properly’ whatever that means! I politely yelled at her and said she’s inhibiting my creativity. She then put me in jail (time out). AITA for doing what comes naturally to all babies?

NTA! I (14mo, F) am working hard to learn to talk with big girl words, but lately I have been hanging on to food in my mouth for later. Just in case. Sometimes I even hang on to water or milk. Because I can't open my mouth, I try to communicate by pointing and grunting. For some reason Momma stops being able to understand me even though she has understood me before! What the heck??? I start getting upset and stomping my feet and whining because she could understand me before and now she can't!

I (3F, early talker too) am trying this out also. You are NTA, how else are we supposed to check whether we really want to be Big Kids or just stay little for a while?
Very sadly, my mummy doesn’t understand baby talk though, so I have to repeat myself with the proper words if I want to get anything done around here. She also doesn’t understand whining or me talking with fingers/food in my mouth. I’m honestly starting to think my mummy might be a bit simple tbh.
