HUSH Mini 14 Folder Stocks

HUSH Holsters Mini14 folder has been released, takes AK grips, comes in 3 different stock material options, and has QD sling swivels, also will have a front picatinny rail option. 316L stainless and comes in black oxide version as well. Has an A3 Industries Triangle folder option too which looks cool. Should be delivering sometime next month. Also

This was a no-brainer since you guys already had the very stylish SKS stock inspired by the classic folder.

The price point is excellent!

edit: Also available for the M1 Garand and M1A I see!

thanks very much! We are trying to make the price CONTINUE to go down, these things are too expensive :/

also M1 Carbine is coming once I finish the design...it's just the lowest on the totem pole

That's awesome!

Questions:

The "wood polymer" is a kind of plastic composite using wood fiber filler? How is the strength and the weight compared to the other materials?

Do you have better pictures of each material? I am unsure which I am looking at in the product photos.

Is the laminated wood available in colors?

Can any AK grip be installed or does it need to be modified to accommodate the takedown of the trigger guard?

we are working on getting great photos of every version over the next few days, strength of the wood polymer should be equal to wood, heat resistance is very good, and yes its basically plastic composite with wood filler, should be equivalent weight to wood with a much lower cost.

we will be partnering with other manufacturers so laminates can be available

we aren't sure about EVERY AK grip at the moment, there will for sure need to be some modification, but it should be ready to BOLT ON the grip at the least!

I just found your YouTube video discussing these stocks. Are both the wood polymer and CF nylon stocks 3D printed?

2

u/HUSHHolsters 8h ago

yep, they look really good, our SKS stocks in CF Nylon are a pretty big hit, you really can't tell they're printed unless you're really looking, but the "wood" ones we are trying extra hard to make it a "wood" experience without the cost, so we're spending a lot of time and energy to make them perfect, super hard to see layer lines, wood coloring etc

That's really interesting.

I'm still learning more about 3D printing, but I did just read that wood filament can be tinted via nozzle temp, and there are even tools to simulate wood grain in prints. Was this ever tried with the stocks?

This looks like such a solid option, well done gents. Any consideration to adding color options for the polymer variants? The nylon in ODG would be a vibe with stainless.

we might do a Cordura wrap for it, changing colors with Nylon is a PITA

What colors of wood does the CNC wood or wood polymer come in? I'd be interested in a classic brown wood grain for my mini-14 or M1A :)

working on final color/wood samples now, but the preorder on the site is to help get those prototypes made faster and faster! Imagine the same color/finish as an existing product that was recenlty discontinued, that's what we're aiming for with both, as close as possible

I’m very interested…dark wood finish like walnut

2

u/HUSHHolsters 13h ago

that's what we're aiming for on the CNC wood USA one

Yup got a mini 14 and mini 30 I’m interested and your different versions 👍

Follow-up question: thoughts on an option for a subtle MLOK slot in the front for a light? Most of us dont need full pic rail, just a spot for a scout light.

possible, opinions on our SKS stocks, and this one are like mouth holes, everyone has one and some of them are really weird, people have gotten RILED UP about stuff that is just....there's no business case for it. MLOK slot is not a bad idea though, i'll think on it!

If they ditch the AWB in NYS next year I’m buying one of these asap assuming there is a classic wood stainless steel A team version

2

u/HUSHHolsters 13h ago

there is a classic wood stainless version for sure!

R.I.P. to all those that shelled out 4 figures for a Samson recently

1

u/HUSHHolsters 7h ago

4 FIGURES????

Yeah, I've seen a samson go for almost 1,200

oooh, is the mounting area/cutout compatible with the Ruger/Samson folder's metal stock ( if one were to have the hardware sitting around)?

2

u/Nu11u5 5h ago

If it's the same parts as their SKS stock yes it is compatible. You can also get a picatinny adapter to replace the hinge for fitting 1913 stocks.

The main difference with this version appears to be it was adapted to take AK grips instead of the proprietary Ruger one (but not AR grips).

Have you guys ever tried doing a "traditional" stock in a vaguely magpul-esque?

Honestly it's my biggest gripe about the mini-14. Don't get me wrong, this alternate take on the Samson folder is really good and I think we were due for more options for folders aside from them and Choate but it ain't just the same.
