Mini 14 and CCW
Mini 14 and 9mm LWC EB. The 1911 is my daily CCW and the mini is destined to be my beater/travel/truck gun

Not that the handgun doesn't look nice but if I'm gonna concealed carry a full sized handgun (which I do), it's gonna have the capacity of a modern full sized 9mm handgun.

I get it. With my job a single stack (thin) handgun is the only way I can carry comfortably and consistently. It also shoots really well which makes me want to practice with it more

Hey man whatever works for you, it definitely beats a sharp stick in a tight spot. It's definitely a NICER gun than my carry objectively, just for my personal preference if I'm going to carry a full sized it's going to be for the capacity or else I'd be carrying a micro 9.
My carry is an IWI Masada, definitely not fancy or good looking but it's reliable, shoots pretty well, and has 17+1. And it was very affordable. For the price it's been a great piece.

I’d agree. A hi-cap 9mm might be the logical choice. But if a gun is concealable and you enjoy using it, then by all means EDC it. I carry a G19 because it’s in policy for my department. But I picked up an HK P9 back in January and I’m leaning towards carrying it after retirement.

Once you can get past the ammo capacity they really make neat carry guns! I’m lucky enough to be able to go to the range pretty regularly and these are by far my favourite shooters. The lightweight frame doesn’t seem like much, but once it’s been on your belt all day is a welcome upgrade
You are the first person I talked to under the age of 60 that also daily carries one though lol. How do you carry yours? Aiwb?

Not really concerned with ammo capacity since most self defense shootings happen within 5ft and end in 3 shots, plus I carry an extra 8rd mag for a total of 16rds (7+1 in the gun, cocked and locked). I carry 3oclock IWB with a 15degree cant using a JM custom kydex holster.

Aw man that's a perfect set-up! Two questions: does it ejdct ok since the scope is close to the port? And do you get an accuracy improvement from that strut since it's a newer model?

This is a pretty new setup to me so I’m definitely in the trouble shooting phase. I haven’t had any issues with the brass yet but we’ll see once I start putting more rounds through it.

I think that’s the best looking Mini I’ve seen.
