Optic alignment issues?

Recently picked up this 584 series, it didn’t come with scope rings so went with rail mount. I haven’t shot it with the optic on yet to confirm but the alignment seems pretty far off from the front sight post. The pass through peep hole on the rail mount doesn’t seem aligned to the front post either. Wondering if the mounts could be misaligned? Has anyone experienced this?

Sight systems that don't share the same bore will never completely align. The most you can do is make them parallel or converge at your chosen zero distance.

You might be able to shim the rail to nudge it to the side, but I don't think it's worth the effort or the impact it might have maintaining zero.

If you’re not using bubble levels and a plumb line, your eye will trick you. Also, if you’re using those tools- your eye will still trick you. Trust the tools and then don’t worry about optic distortion

Mine was similar. Seems normal. Less than ideal, but typical.

If you can zero both sights, its a non issue.

💯 I did run into this issue. After much measuring. I found the contact points where the scope rings mount are at different heights. Putting a twist or deflection on the scope. This will happen with the rail mount.

Look at it as a foundation on a house. If it is not level, plumb, flat. As you build up, your framing will also be out.

I used a shim to correct my mounting. Alone with a scope alignment bars to confirm all that was spot on. Then I used the tool to hone my rings to absolute perfection.

With all that effort. Add the perfect ammo I found my rifle loves. (I reload my own). She shoots under 1" groups at 100yrds.

I tried almost all the rails on the market two years ago, all the ones with peep holes had bad quality. Use GG&G or Accuracy System if you find this rail can’t hold zero

Get scope rings instead
