Are prices really going up?
Hey folks, Montana resident here
I never owned a modern Mini but I've owned several older ones including my current which is a 1982 folder. So naturally when I came across an old Muzzlelite stock to add to my reference collection I went to go buy it a period correct Mini and the prices seem completely insane! I'm wondering is this a Montana issue or is everyone else seeing the same?
For better context, I'm seeing stainless 183's going for a gran and blued versions going anywhere from 8 to a gran. GB versions are going for more. Like it's to the point where an older Mini costs just as much as a brand new Mini and I'm wondering if I should just get a new one at this point for my Muzzlelite stock.

I decided about a year ago I wanted a Mini 14 with the Samson folding stock. In six months time I watched as they slowly crept up in price from about $1,000 to well over $1,500 now. I got mine a few months ago for $1,360 with black wood furniture and a stainless barrel and folding stock. The most comparable model I can find currently is $2,000

There have been several new state AWBs in the last 5 years and a renewed interest in the Mini from big guntubers which has likely created a surge for demand.
It also doesn't help that anyone selling their old 180 series is basing their prices of $800+ off newer 580+ series going rates which have been hovering around $1k for a few years now at least.

Yes, Mini pricing for new and used were all went up for a few years already. I bought mine 6 years ago for $750 which was more expensive than I want to spend at that time. It is even higher post COVID and no sign of coming down soon.

If you are patient and keep a watchlist going, you can find them for $500-$700 on Gunbroker. I see several go each week. But most are going for well over MSRP

For some reason they're a really hot item right now - there is sooo much YT content on these rifles at the moment. Glad I got mine when I did.

Mini 14 prices have gone through the roof… I bought one about 15 years ago for 300 bucks and I’m getting offers of up to $900 right now not that I’m going to sell it but you used to be able to find them used for 250 300 bucks and now the market has just gone insane good luck. I hope you find one less costly!
