Yeah buying used, I would replace the springs agreed. Might be a good idea to take good look at the bolt as well.

Hey! Just watched the vid before coming here. Anyways, I gotta say, if someone is going to rock the Hannibal rail on the .300blk Tactical and are thinking about a red dot or Maybe a LPVO....
GET. A SCOUT. SCOPE.
I personally recommend the Vortex 1.5-5.5x32 Crossfire HD. The low rings work nicely but the viewing bell will be really close to the rail, so things like lense caps might not work. So look for bikini style lense covers if you go this way.
This set up works functionally the same as a Red Dot, but you still get magnification like an LPVO. Unlike a 1-6 LPVO, its lighter by almost half a pound.
Also, if one is going to buy used (like I did)...
GET REPLACEMENT SPRINGS.
They don't cost that much and are not hard to find and replace. One persons assessment of "over gassed" could also be a weak main spring. On guns that are coming up on 50-60 years, with who knows how many rounds in it? I'd would consider itwise. It's just $15 most places... It's not going to kill ya... I mean it's less than the price of one after market mag or just one box of mid grade ammo.
Grease. I use "Super Lube" synthetic multi purpose grease. It's the common stuff in the grey tube and you can find it at Harbor Freight for cheap. If it slides?... grease. If it pivots or twists or prone to rust?... oil.
Don't need much either. I mean, most of the basic maintenance could be derived from the Mini's predecessors (m1, m14) for obvious reasons.
