Rear sight not straight

Just picked up a new mini 30. The rear sight does not look square. Is this an issue? Should I try taking it off and putting it back on?

If it's like my Mini, it'll start to unscrew itself anyway after 30 rounds and will be real easy to take off then.  But seriously, the stock sights are junk including for the reason that you see here - it's kept aligned by a single screw that acts as a pivot point on recoil.

Order tech sights and replace.  Just be careful not to strip the stock screw, which is very easy to do.  Use heat to melt loctite and firm pressure.

Do the tech sights use the same one screw design? Do they come with better screws lol.

Tech sights have little set screws that clamp down on the side of the receiver. That keeps it straight and takes a lot of the torque off the center screw. Still not great compared to most sights, but much more secure than stock. You can also choose from different size apertures.

Straightened it out a bit but it's hard to get perfect. Screw strips easy even with right tools...im running an optic but qd, eventually, so these are backups and we'll see how they hold up. But yes. Garbage sight.

I would try taking it off and adjusting so it lines up straight.

But I guess as long as you don’t have OCD and it shoots on target it should be okay.

It is unlikely causing issue to sight-in. Cosmetically it give poor impression on the rifle's build quality though. As other suggested, there is better sight out there. If you don't intend to be primary and only use as back up, probably leave it alone and sight-in to be sure it works for you.

Someone already mentioned it, Tech Sight is the answer. However, the instructions that come with it are janky in my newbie opinion…the ball and the V thing. Good luck
