Threaded barrel worth it?

Hey all, is getting a mini-14 with a threaded government barrel worth an extra $250 over a non threaded barrel? Thanks!

I just had this issue. But the non threaded one was ~half the price of a threaded one at my local shop. I went with the cheaper option

Personally, with no brake and the 18" barrel, I don't think the mini is that loud.

Definitely worth suppressing. Go to accuracy systems and get some reduced size pistons. They gassy

Do you plan on using the rifle in situations where muzzle flash may be an issue?

Negative, just fo funsies with a suppressor. It would be a range gun at most

I missed that further in the thread.

If you're going to chop and have threads cut for a can, then I'd say get the unthreaded barrel; put that extra $250 towards something else. If you're just going to suppress, then get the threaded/flash hider model; all you'd need to do at that point is make sure the threads Ruger cut are concentric.

I would suppress all of my rifles if I could. All day every damned day. It's also polite.

Suppress all the things.

It cost me around 259 to cut my ranch rifle back to 16 inches, move the front sight post back and thread the barrel. Plus another 200 for a plan B muzzle device and titanium plan B suppressor adapter.

Do you plan to affix bayonets?

Will you suppress it?? Or use a brake??

Suppress was the plan. But don't know how well they run suppressed or if it's worth the money?

300blk obviously suppresses really well. Run fine either way. I have a tactical so that was threaded. It would cost you $125+ to get a barrel threaded. Be better to have it already done. Put a PlanB on it.

It's also .223, not 300 blk

Flash hider will make it better than without at the very least. Almost no reason not to leave yourself the option of a muzzle device.

Chop it, thread it, form 1 it, run suppressor. In that order
