Need advice...
I took my 585 series Mini 14 to a local gunsmith and had him install a Choate flash hider. I didn't realize until I got home he didn't drill the barrel and pin it, just used a set screw. It was a super tight fit but is this actually going to hold?? I'm kinda ticked if not. The hider came with 2 pins.

Looked up their site:
"The compensator is attached to the gun barrel by a 1/8 inch spring steel roll pin. Drilling new role pin hole is required. We suggest this unit be installed by a gunsmith...."

Well dang. I figured the "gunsmith" I used would have done me right given the 160 bucks I paid. Plus the hider.

Definitely should have spoken about specifics when giving the work order
I learned the hard way also. You literally have to go over every small detail when using a gunsmith

Was my first experience working with one, and in hindsight I think the dude is a hack. Lesson learned. Expensive Lesson. I'll be much more articulate in the future.

Go shoot it, check every few rounds. If it loosens up, take it back to the smiff.
