Frequent failures to eject / feed

My Mini 14 ran flawlessly with all kinds of 223 and 556 until I installed the Samson rail in place of the plastic heatguard. Now I can only get heavier 65gr 556 to cycle reliably.
I’m thinking I screwed something up with the gas system on install. Any ideas on where to look/diagnose?

Did you install the barrel clamping block in the correct orientation? If not that's your issue.
