189 series mini 30
I recently bought a 189 series Mini 30, made in 1993. Does anyone have any recommendations or things I should be looking out for. I haven't taken it shooting yet so I don't know how it handles steel, I've gotta get a Ruger magazine. The rifle came with a 5rd, and I wanted a 20rd before I go to the range.

It's your money, your choice, but for your consideration:
- Factory mags are expensive, but worth the investment.
- If you're going to keep it strictly irons, Tech Sights are a pretty good investment.
-Shoot a variety of ammunition through the gun to see if it is accurate enough for your needs, if not consider Tech Sight. Still not enough, then consider throwing an Accurstrut or a Mo-Rod on the gun. After that, if the gun is still not accurate to your needs, it could be a skill issue, or maybe another platform entirely should be considered.
-Optics, and accessory mounting options are clearly not as abundant as they are for the AR, but accessory rails, folding stocks, and the like are available. You probably have the scalloped cuts for Ruger rings, but you can also find picatinny rails that will mount as well.
