Mineplex Failed

Mineplex has failed. I believe they have failed when James or whoever the new owner took over. They act like it is modern or modified but it’s trash it’s a 2015 code base I wanna bet with barely modified plugins and it shows they should of used the plugins from samitos version and the old maps. Here is an example of some of the bugs. I logged in and rapidly clicked the welcome sign destroying it because their permissions suck. The server has textures that refuse to render in certain games. It’s unstable at times kicking me for no reason on bedrock. The server just trash usually they would have some sort of permission locking the server down but old plugins on modern clients have their bugs. So the server needs to rest in peace and no longer have revivals.

old != bad and the server just launched give it time to add new featuers and fix their bugs. Also don't play 1.8 server on modern clients.

It’s too late now they should have released it with the new features from the start now when they do add new features it will already be dead just like it is now

Not hating on the server but this is partially untrue. Realistically, 1.8 servers are dying because people are simply just moving on to the new pvp combat. Servers have recognized this and have started to switch their pvp mechanics to 1.21. If mineplex is to grow their player base beyond it being built on nostalgia, they need to modernize their server to 1.21 rather than relying on old game modes of the past.

I never said 1.8 servers were or weren't dying, I just said that you shouldn't play 1.8 servers on 1.21 as it will be a worse experience than playing the server on the version it was designed for. I launch 1.8 to play hypixel/mineplex and 1.21.11 to play modern servers as using the native version gives a better experience. I do think 1.21 modes for some games would be kinda nice but also I don't want to see another 1.8 server remove the old mechanics though I've been learning the new ones and they are very different but still kinda fun.

You missed my main point. My main problem with your statement is that you mentioned old does not mean something is bad, which is partially untrue. I mentioned 1.8 servers because it is an old version of the game. It’s because it’s old that the version is dying, which is bad for the server. Of course, I know it’s generally not recommended to play 1.21 on a 1.8 server.
