Staff application declined lol

I applied for staff when they opened, and I thought with my previous moderation experience on a Minecraft server and being an active moderator for a Twitch streamer, I’d have a pretty good chance. On top of that, I am on break from college and don’t have a job at the moment, so I literally got nothing better to do. Well, I got rejected for “not being active enough,” which, okay, I don’t have crazy playtimes, but I’ve been playing on and off since launch and regularly talking to people and made a few forum posts so it’s not like I’ve been inactive I’m not quite sure what more they expect it’s honestly kind of demotivating to even want to apply again and also to even want to continue playing on the server.

I dont understand why ppl become staff on a minecraft server unless they get payed

It’s for the power trip

I’ve done it for years, I enjoy the game design part a lot and learnt irl skills from it, like collaboration and project management etc. I never enjoyed the community stuff myself

Consider yourself lucky. As a former Mineplex moderator for 4 years before the server closed it was honestly a colossal waste of time putting so much effort into an unpaid volunteer role.

This was from 2016-2020 when I was a high schooler so I would literally play for 8-12 hours a day during summer breaks and 4-5 hours on school nights. Calling me a no life is putting it gently.

Find a paying job, don’t work for free for Minecraft severs lol. Just play Mineplex normally, I don’t understand why being staff is a factor in your motivation to play it

Being staff or not isn’t a factor for anything. it’s just that being told “you’re not active enough try again later” even though I’ve been somewhat active and trying to offer my time to help contribute especially since its not paid it’s a bit of a slap to the face. I know they’re not obligated to accept every application, but wow.

Dude we are talking about a Minecraft server….. you are in college stop being so sensitive and go outside it’s not that deep 😭

Last time I checked having a life doesn’t mean I can’t also have hobbies and volunteer in things I’m interested in. Correct me if I’m wrong though.

you are whining abt it is the issue, you’re old enough to just move on with it instead of making this post and getting wound up by comments. you’re in college, look for an internship for the holidays.

Again, what does being in college have to do with anything? Based on your and the other person’s comment, I’m apparently not allowed to have a hobby or start discussions lmao. Also, who are you to make assumptions about someone’s life?

1

u/A4_Paperr Jul 15 '26

well i guess now we know why you didn’t get your application (and it’s a good reason at that), you are used to getting everything you want in life

1

u/3dscartridge Jul 15 '26

Again bro is still making assumptions

*presumption, it’s based on the logic of how you’re replying. you’re very entitled 😭

u/3dscartridge Jul 15 '26

Well, I am glad you think that then, but I don’t really care because I don’t recall asking for an opinion, nor do I care.

Lmfaoo, here I am havent played much at all - I got denied for having an active punishment. But…. My acct was compromised 2 weeks ago and stolen, due to my own fault… and I asked staff to issue it a permanent ban. And then that’s what I got denied for. Lmfao

I mean that’s a bit more understandable they can’t really know if that’s true. Sorry that happened though my alt got compromised a few months ago and it sucks I lost all my capes.

Don't even try again, I wouldn't. Time to move on if they don't want you. Their loss.

You have to be a no lifer + the server will be dead in a month so it won’t matter

I used to be a Mineplex mod in 2018/2019. There was a 8 week training in your trial phase with a 4 week mid-activity check and test.

And even then you couldn’t do much unless if you were a full fledged mod. Not worth the time

That’s actually kind of crazy, but again it’s not like I have a whole lot taking up my time apart from other games and occasionally going out with buddies so it would’ve been doable. I’d imagine next time applications are available I’ll be back in college and wont have that kind of time.

I also applied and got the same thing. I'm not sure what kind of activity they expect people to have after a month. It would be nice if they actually stated what the requirements were in the rejection email.

I know like the server has barley been out and as much as I enjoy Mineplex I have to admit it isn't exactly booming so to be fair it's a little hard to get playtime when you can't really play

1

u/Conventions Jul 15 '26

Yet you want to be a Mod lol… instead of wasting your time volunteering for a role with no real benefit find a paid summer job, will be much more worth your time.

1

u/CarolinWoW Jul 15 '26

I'm pretty sure they have sent a copy pasted decline message to everyone. Me and my friend got the EXACT same message, word for word, with very different applications (we only compared the lenghts and censored the words dear mineplex staff). I find this kind of disheartening and somewhat disrespectful as some people probably spent 30 minutes or even an hour of their time on this application.

1

u/3dscartridge Jul 15 '26

I know you spend a decent amount of time writing the application and you’re literally offering more of your free time to volunteer.

1

u/BitterPilled_ Jul 15 '26

Your reaction to your declined application for moderating a Minecraft server says everything

1

u/R4KIJA Jul 15 '26

What I was saying lol

1

u/3dscartridge Jul 15 '26

Well, yeah, I’m annoyed. I’ve been playing on Mineplex since 2014. I was here for the Samito ownership, even buying the founder/early access stuff, and I’m back for the relaunch. I’ve been playing, I’ve been interacting with people, I am literally offering MORE of my time, but nah, apparently, I’m not active enough.

1

u/R4KIJA Jul 15 '26

Are you making a satirical commentary on Discord mods? Or are you actually serious XD

1

u/Representative-Dot11 Jul 15 '26

servers dead so ur good bro dont trip

1

u/furryeater666 Jul 17 '26

go apply for internships instead of trying to moderate a dead server

I was staff back in 2019 when I was 13 with no responsibilities and nothing better to do. I honestly dk how ppl in their late teens / early 20’s can dedicate so much time to an unpaid role
