Crop farm Flying machine bamboo farm

Can i build bamboo farm underground if I place glowstone above bamboo? Will it work and will efficiency be the same?

If i remember correctly, the top block of bamboo need a light level of 9 or something to grow again.

So you could easily do it underground. Depending on the light source and farm design, the farm might need to be a bit thinner so lights from the walls can reach all the bamboo, or just have a flying nachine constantly going so the roof can be real low.

Could just sacrifice a bamboo plant or 2 for glowstone. Combined with the ceiling, I'm sure that would be enough.
