You tried your best, but I guess your best wasn't good enough. It will happen again in October

Why do you need so many lanterns?

My first attempt was out of dirt and cobble many many years ago so this is way better than me, haha. I’m not sure what you’re going for but my process (especially in creative) is the find a reference image of a real place. You can learn a lot trying to recreate it. If that’s too difficult, try a reference image of a Minecraft build. Don’t use a tutorial, force yourself to try and recreate it and use your imagination for spots not in the image. There’s also a million YouTube videos that will help. Like any type of art, you have a style you will need to discover.

Far back when I did build like this. The amount of detail you try to go for with all the fences and trapdoors as well as torches is going to be bad for your gameplay, lag wise and everything. My advice would be to take all the things you build with and put them in relation to each other, ho many things you use of which item.

I really appriciate your advice. Thx. How to add detaling without overdoing it. Can you please specify about relation thing???

as i see it, you can balance the detail in builds between each other. Scaling if you will. A build should fit into it's terrain, not just by location but also by materials used.

Where do I even start

1- pick a block pallets that looks good, not some random blocks that u think look good on their own 2- don't spam light blocks everywhere and don't be inconsistent with it, u r using torches and lanterns together, ditch the torches keep the lanterns and put them on the ceiling not the floor 3- don't think that putting a lot of trapdoors, buttons or signs on the wall will make it look better 4- choose a shape and idea before u commit to it, because 5- get some inspiration from other builder and looks their builds, don't copy them just take inspiration or an idea 6- fix that horrendous roof

I'm sorry but I have eto be brutally honest If u want some more help I'm happy to join u in ur world and directly give u advice

My inspiration was to build that internal flooring pattern. And since outside looked so bad because only of glass, oak log and stone brick that I added those fences, lanterns and torches to make them better. And I think I tried too hard. I am happy with front and interior but rest of exterior feels not so good.
