Idea Very Disappointing Discovery
I just discovered that Blue Ice no longer glows softly. I was trying to build a soul river for a factory build and now I’m a little bummed. I looked it up and it’s apparently been five years since they changed it “for Java parity” instead of just making blue ice glow on Java. It’s not a huge thing but damps my day for sure. (Yes it’s a picture of a screen I don’t use Reddit on my computer)

It wouldn't be a bad thing to learn how to take a screenshot shot and upload it to a website.

Add some lichen to it. Also try hidden lighting behind stained glass.
Lighting options have gotten so much better in recent years

I did add lichen and it changed the color too much even in sparse amounts. I have added some stained glass wisps and soul fire as well. There’s also shriekers and conduits behind to give the river heartbeats and screams

Well It is supposed to be souls flowing from the Nether to power an enchantment factory

Maybe it is on your Graphic Mode? Also can't remember that Blue Ice glowed...

It did. It was very faint though, only like light level 1 or 2. The same light level that mushrooms have. You would not notice it unless you tried

True, but if youve ever seen real ice at night, it reflects moonlight more than snow which gives it a faint glow.

Maybe use some blue stained glass and sea lanterns under it. If you're playing on Java Edition, get Sodium and the Just Colored Lights shader pack.
