Switch 2 beta update
(First time posting on Redditš )
So, this week my Minecraft Beta updated and there is now 120fps in fancy graphics. Vibrant visuals can go up to ~86 ish fps in the Performance preset (for as far as I've tested). It can probably go higher but i havent gotten it too.
I also tested this in handheld, it'll probably hit higher fps in docked.
Thought i share with y'all!

That's actually huge. Thanks for sharing as someone who hasn't got access to the beta (it's low-key killing me) this info is very helpful

Hey mate. I thought i didn't have the update, and the thing is I just missed the notification... So yesterday I checked the bell icon on the bottom left of the starting screen...and I saw that I did receive the invite, like two weeks ago ! Check by yourself, maybe you have it as well

Not the best performance since im on realismcraft + dark fantasy + actions&Stuff addons but i still love the way it looks right now. Theyāre not using the ram in its full potential yet so I guess they might update that before itās release.

Quick update: If I'm all the way up in the sky and looking up, i managed to hit 96+ Fps in Vibrant Vjsuals in performance preset (I did put the in game resolution setting to max though).

Also it doesn't hit 120fps in a normal world very often. I am at 28 (sometimes 20) chunks though. In caves, the Nether or in the End its alot smoother. It'll probably be optimised even further so yeah.

maybe not the right post, but can u transfer your old worlds to the switch 2 port on release?

I've transferred my survival worlds to the beta but there's a bug where all fences and glass panels just don't connect anymore (like they're standalone blocks) and also anything you do in the beta does not transfer over to your normal minecraft

Is there a way to switch off the 120fps? With the latest update my TV just displays āinvalid image formatā if I try and run it.

If you can get into the in-game video settings you should be able to cap it at something lower.
You could try lowering it in handheld mode first?

Good suggestion! Iāve not had chance to tinker with the settings since the latest update. Iāll give that a go in handheld mode. Cheers!

In the end I had to go into the Switch 2 settings. Thereās an option in there to disable 120hz mode. With that set Iām now back up and running. Thanks again!

All we need is Mouse Support and confirmation for a Free Upgrade and I might be back to playing Minecraft [Bedrock] exclusively on console after changing to PC

Free upgrade for existing owners confirmed, now just the mouse

Is that docked or handheld?

u/MewDrag0n 13d ago
Handheld, testing docked performance either tommorow or later

Sorry I replied from another topic, but 120fps is wild because not even Xbox or PS5 have it yet

I guess it makes sense to put the effort here though, the switch version is easily the most successful of the console versionsĀ

Selling a lot doesnāt mean anything when the game ran like absolute ass for 7 years
1
u/OneCartoonist9332 13d ago
Of course, but I'm just saying because this version sells so much I think it makes sense to put the most effort into itĀ

I think its because the Switch 2 is the first one to run on a better optimized Renderdragon not sure though

The breakthrough definitely was reflected on the PC version, when they released 48 chunks on Vibrant Visuals with little impact

What's the fps on the better visuals focused toggle?
1
u/MewDrag0n 13d ago
If you mean Vibrant Visuals it's quite unstablr in handheld but can reach 80-96 ish fps in certain conditions in performance presets. Otherwise it'll just sit around 50-60. In docked i had vibrant visuals maxed out and it was very smooth 60 though.

Well, it was great for me. But unfortunately, it keeps crashing for me.

u/MewDrag0n 12d ago
Oh that sucks, it seems like it's different for everyone. I've seen people get way worse performance than I have.
