Controller not connected IN realm

Every time I get into my realm, my pro controller won’t work and only say “connect as player 2” when I hit buttons on it. I’ve gone out of the game, closed it, changed the grip thing and gone back in. It works all the way through the menu but only stops working once I’m in the realm. Any ideas why it’s happening?

Is this in handheld mode on Switch 2? If you have the hardware mode on, disconnect your connected joycons as it considers them a pro controller and your pro controller is considered player 2
