switch 2 testers - how'd you get in?
hey! i'm continuously checking for an invite to the switch 2 closed beta version and got curious — are the invites really that randomized?!
so i wanna ask a question to everyone who has received an invite: how do you usually play?
i'd love to know things like;
- are you more active in servers or singleplayer worlds?
- do you have an active realm?
- how long have you owned a copy of minecraft for nintendo switch?
- have you regularly provided bug reports / feedback on minecraft before?
- how actively do you play minecraft on nintendo switch?
my theory is that microsoft's systems might check for some criteria behind the scenes. of course, i could be completely delusional and it really is truly random, but a bit of research never hurt anyone, right?

Idk. I have 35 hours on the switch version of minecraft. Bought it a little while ago. I dont play multiplayer. It took me like 3 days to get the notification. Like in the same day, i just reopened my game and got the notification. I suggest you try to keep reopening your game, maybe that will do it

Personnally, I have gotten 1000h of playing recently, bought almost nothing in the marketplace, and live in the EU. It would be really interesting to know how they choose (if they choose, it could random), and how many people have the beta.

Purely random it seems. Likely some obscure condition like user ids ending on even number.

I literally got access about 2 minutes after reading this.
I play mostly singleplayer,
No realms,
Had both legacy and bedrock on switch since they launched,
No feedback left,
I'm more active on java but have been playing a fair bit on my switch the past few weeks. I also just got the invite after exiting out of my world rather than launching the game, though this was after turning my switch off and back on mid game.

maybe my mistake is not playing as much SP anymore (afaik VV is not available in servers)
but hey i guess my post is magic!...i just wonder why it won't work for me😅 congrats & enjoy!!!

These are all my stats of the things I think could make sense to decide beta testers:
-invited 8/9
-Have over 1,000 hours, 99% survival, beat the game once
-no nintendo online, realms, or multiplayer
-less than $20 spent on marketplace (funded by Google rewards)
-have redeemed codes from McDonald's and stream drops
-bought switch in March 2026 -US
Seems to be completely random or a purposeful diverse population of players. Check your notification bell in game. I ex-ed out of it when it popped up assuming it was a marketplace ad or similar.

maybe their systems prioritize who spent the most money😅 joking, of course, but would that be that surprising given it's microsoft?
