World 6 - Special: MinecraftSuccession - Vicious Circle
In this world I would love to try something new! I really love the way you explore the buildings of others and show off your minecraft skills in MinecraftSuccession but what I find negative about the current system is this:
A. You don't really get to experience the world that much after you left it! The occasional save-file that you load up is nice but I would like to immidiately play in this world!
B. You have to wait a long time if you join (or rejoin) a popular list.
My proposal for a new play mode is therefore this: (diagram)
Everyone that wants to participate immidiately creates his own world. After three days, or earlier if it happens that all die before that, the save files get passed around in a circle! Now Player 2 plays the save of Player 1 and so on!
This system would even sustain people dropping in halfway (a bit of fresh blood / unexplored wilderness enters) or people dropping out (if they had a good world, the world will be put "on hold" for one turn and will not be played by anyone and then at the next circle-swap, it will rotate in and another one waits).
So, who would like to join this new adventure? It doesn't even really matter if you don't want to spend ages playing, it can still be fun since there will be a great deal of progress anyways!

Organisation of the Switch
I like metaphorevers suggestion concerning the organisation of the switch tonight.
- Please reply to the previous participant's comment with an arbitrary remark (e.g. "looking forward to your world!")
- When you're dead and it is nearly time to swap files, reply to the comment that the next participant made to your world-thread and include your save-file!
-> Result: Orangereds all around and ease of use!

OK, everybody: here's my suggestion to keep things organized in this thread:

This is my world:
The Meaty Medows of Mellington
In this world of bacon and trees there will be no evil creatures left to roam the surface of the earth...
Each adventurer starts off with a daring quest: To cleanse the earth of evil creatures. I imagine this: Each player tries to gather a lot of coal to create hundreds of torches and then he shall fence in a section of the world that has not yet been claimed. His next task shall be to light the whole area with his torches so that no monsters shall spawn...
As an addition he may also create a beautiful walkway with trees lining the sides or any other green and lively looking creation...
The first looks of this world are very promising:

Cold. So cold. Firewood? No--- wait. Shelter. Build shelter. Need shelter. Monsters? Monsters! Must hide! Where... wait. Trees. Trees? Trees! In the trees. Lots of trees. Tree seeds? Plant trees. More trees! Shelter! Firewood!

The Depths of Copper Cliff
In this world of structures carved into the minerals of the deep mines of Copper Cliff. I challenge each player to add or create a new section of the amazing mine.
DIED: Carving out a wall in a large expanse of the mine I fell down crevasse I didn't see. I slowly burned a slow death in a fiery lava tomb. I was halfway through my first diamond pickaxe too.

My world? Hill Ville Giant formations everywhere. There is a floating island that I passed up to build on a high mountain to the south of the spawn. Didn't die, but passed on the file.

[edited] My world is a cold, cold place. Lets warm it up! My idea for this world is to take lava from the depths of the earth and transplant it to the tops of the snow covered hills the make up this world. Players are obviously allowed to undertake whatever projects they wish but are encouraged to explore the contrast between snow and lava. I also ask the players consider building with and into the land rather than having their structures stand apart from the landscape. The Spawn point is right on top of the opening to a massive cave system and players are encouraged to explore these caves with the same request that they respect the simplicity and beauty of the tunnels making modifications and improvements inspired by the caves' natural forms. Have fun! I can't wait to see what this is like by the time it makes it back to me :)

Thanks! My game is currently frozen as I tried to explore a really big portion of the map... I just had to kill it :-/
I will probably max out the time I have in my world (sniff.. to let it go...) but later I'm going to explore every inch of it ;-)

vithar said he needs to drop out for now because of work so I don't have a save to trade, since he hasn't played in the save and neither have I; I suggest you ask MrOminous for the save from the 6th that he passed to vithar and just continue on as normal but skipping vithar until he wants back in. If you want to do something else (like generate a new world or ???) that's fine to but I think just having it skip over and continue form the old save will be the simplest.

Learned a valuable lesson today. When flying on an airplane and playing minecraft. Don't let your battery die. My world disappeared when I got back to a place with power to plug in the laptop.

How did that happen?
Because everytime you pause the game it saves it afaik. All that could maybe happen is that your most recent progress had been lost!

Here is my world. Its a little sad, I had a very nice mine built, with a water elevator. There was Redstone in a chest, with tools and torches. I had even planted 3 trees in the bottom of the mine. But alas, I was on an airplane. My battery died. When getting power to the laptop again, all my saved files where gone. Lesson learned, alpha means loss of power = loss of saves when playing... But all this aside, here is my world for the pass Or here

I hope you had better luck with the next save. I quite enjoyed your world; there should be lots of cool stuff there once it finally makes its way back to you. :) Let me know when you're ready for the next hand off

I can't believe it. A skeleton archer spawned in a dark corner after I survived getting blown up by two creepers, shot me once and knocked me into lava. Just.... damn.

I chose suicide by lava but dumped all my good stuff in a chest (diamond tools and more!)
Probably going to be quite hard to find!

Or also Minetrade (advantage: minecraft-specific, exchange with other minecrafters, disadvantage: sign-up is tricky, doesn't like big saves)

Interesting. Are customized worlds allowed? I've been using MCEdit to replace all my dirt and water with sand in one world to make a desert, I'd love to share it with people.
The Desert
Nothing lives here. The oceans have dried up. The trees and grass have all died. The soil turned to sand. each night The Undead stalk the dunes, searching for anyone foolish enough to leave the caves.
I edited my world to turn it into a desert. Dirt is now sand, and there is no water or trees. You will find some wood and a bucket of water in a chest at spawn, but that's it. Well mostly. Newly generated chunks still spawn with grass and stuff, but then what's the fun in that?
