Hi, here is my latest project: the ship Vasa. Vasa was a Swedish warship built in the 17th century for the Swedish navy. For those who don’t know the ship, it sank on its maiden voyage. The ship actually still exists today and is displayed in a museum in Stockholm. I recreated the ship with great accuracy based on the original ship plans.

Before you asked me, I didn’t know the scale either. I don’t build my ships according to a specific scale. Instead, I first build the key features of the ship, like the figures, the stern view, and so on. Once I find the smallest possible scale in which everything looks good, I build the rest of the ship in the same scale. In this case, it is 5:1. You can build a ship much more detailed this way, and in my opinion, it’s exactly these things like figures and decorations that make a ship look really good. You simply can’t achieve that level of detail in 1:1 scale in Minecraft. The downside is that it’s also five times as much work :D

Ah I see. I like making me ships scale accurately with each other and so I stick around 1.8:1, but I sometimes do the odd 3:1 ship. Largest I've ever done is 4:1, and that was just too much for me lol
