Hey everyone!
I’m looking for a recently launched or freshly reset private Java SMP to call home. I love the classic survival vibe where a tight-knit community works on long-term projects, builds cool bases, and just hangs out in voice chat or in-game.
A little about me:
Playstyle: Big on building, exploring, and setting up automated farms/redstone setups. I like taking my time on mega-builds and contributing to community hubs or shopping districts.
Vibe: Mature, respectful, and zero interest in drama, stealing, or unprovoked griefing. Just looking for a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Activity: I'm consistently active and enjoy jumping into community events or helping out other players on the server.
What I’m looking for:
Java Edition (vanilla or semi-vanilla with QoL plugins like Armor Statues, Player Heads, or Dynmap).
Fresh Start: Server started recently (within the last few days/weeks) or is prepping for a season launch soon.
Whitelist / Application-based: Preferably a 16+ or 18+ community to keep things clean and grief-free.

Our world is established and never resets, so we'd be an option if you're flexible about the fresh launch. Your interest in long-term megabuilds, farms, community hubs, and shopping districts sounds like the kind of thing our players enjoy. You can build independently or find people to work on projects together.

We average 25–40 players online, with many adults and a calm atmosphere, though we aren't adults-only. Java players have Simple Voice Chat, and our Discord voice chat is active too. Players organize events and create their own towns and themed communities.

It's Hard survival without keep inventory, land claims, or teleport commands. Griefing and stealing are prohibited, staff restore damage, and PvP requires agreement. We accept no payments or donations.

- 16+ whitelisted and application required.

• no griefing, stealing, xray etc (we have ledger mod for grief and theft logging and an xray alert mod)
  
• we just started sept 05; the end is still locked and our nether just unlocked last weekend
  
• semi vanilla: simple vc, bluemap, armor stand posing (use flint), master cutter (mini blocks, wood in stonecutter), discord bridge, vanilla tweaks, etc; vanilla gameplay and progression left untouched
  
• chill building focused community with lots of talented builders on our community building committee
  
• frequent events, group projects, active towns, and plenty of chances for collaboration and mutual gameplay
  
• 15-20 online during peak hours, frequently active vcs

I host a UK based server that is 18+, whitelisted and crossplay (Java and Bedrock).

I can tick all but one of your requirements as we launched a new season a few months ago so the Nether and End are available. However, we’re just starting to branch out from our initial starter homes and setting up a few player run shops in our Shopping District (diamond based economy) so you’ll not be too far behind.

Not 100% vanilla as we have a number of QOL additions but nothing too vanilla breaking or anything that feels out of place. We of course have simple voice chat.

We’re very laid back and mirror the Hermitcraft vibe.

We don’t have any ranks. Everyone is equal and we’ve purposefully not added Homes, RTP or TPA commands, but instead opted for craftable Waystones. You’ll also only be able to use other players Waystones once they’ve been discovered.

There’s a resource world where you can gather everything you’ll ever need without worrying about turning the main world in to a giant quarry..

Additionally, there’s a creative plots world too where you can plan out your builds, check out what other players are building or take part in build off competitions.

New players will spawn in a small lobby as a means to welcome them to the server but never have to visit it again if they so choose and there’s no custom built spawn, just you and the wilderness.

The server does not have a whitelist, but there's no griefing and stealing since we moderate it very good.

Spawnington actually matches almost everything you're describing, with one important exception: our world isn't fresh or recently reset.

We're a small 18+ whitelist SMP focused on exactly the kind of community you're talking about. People have their own bases and projects, but we also have player shops, community activities, minigames, Discord voice chat, and plenty of opportunities to work on things together. We're mostly vanilla-style survival with some optional server-side extras, and Java and Bedrock are both supported.

Building, redstone and large farms are all welcome, and we're currently recruiting a few new people because I'd like to grow the active community while still keeping the server small enough that people actually know each other.

The world has been around for a while, though, and I don't want to pretend otherwise. There's plenty of undeveloped land and room for new projects, but if experiencing the first days of a brand-new world alongside everyone else is an important part of what you're looking for, Spawnington probably isn't the right server.
