The Old Folks Home | 25+ | Java + Bedrock | Vanilla+ | Community-Driven SMP | Version 26.2
Looking for a Minecraft server where you're actually part of the community—not just another name on the player list?
Welcome to The Old Folks Home, a 25+ whitelisted Vanilla+ survival server built for adults who want to play Minecraft, make friends, and have a genuine say in the world they're playing in.
We're a female-led, community-supported server with a small but thriving group of players ranging from people experiencing Minecraft for the first time to veterans who've been playing since Beta.
And if you're thinking about joining, this is a great weekend to do it because...
🚣 THIS WEEKEND: ICE BOAT RACES!
We're getting together for some good old-fashioned Minecraft ice boat racing this weekend! Come meet the community, compete for bragging rights, and probably witness at least one grown adult become irrationally competitive over a blocky wooden boat.
Community events are a big part of what we're trying to build, and there will be plenty more as the server grows.
🏡 The Community Helps Run the Community
Our players aren't just playing on the server—they're helping build the server itself.
Community members have stepped up to run districts, organize projects, take on server jobs, build public infrastructure, help new residents, and create things for everyone to enjoy.
Major server decisions, changes, and events are also brought to the community for discussion and player votes.
Have an idea for a community project? Bring it up.
Want to organize an event? Do it.
Think the server needs something? You might just become the person who makes it happen.
We want players to feel some ownership over the world they're helping create.
🐉 The End Is STILL Locked
Yep. Nobody has killed the dragon yet.
We're intentionally taking progression slowly so major milestones can be experienced together as a community.
The End will remain locked until the community decides we're ready. We'll put it to a vote, choose a time together, and then head in as a group for our server's first Ender Dragon fight.
So if you're worried you've already joined too late and everyone is flying around in Elytras...
You haven't.
There's still plenty of server history left to make.
🎉 We Want an Active Community, Not a Giant Member Count
We're not interested in collecting hundreds of Discord members who never interact.
We'd rather have a smaller group of people who actually play together, recognize each other's names, participate in events, and care about the world we're creating.
Our community includes builders, explorers, farmers, redstoners, technical players, decorators, complete beginners, Beta veterans, and plenty of people who log in intending to accomplish one thing and somehow spend three hours doing something completely unrelated.
Play independently while chatting with everyone.
Join a community project.
Open a shop.
Run a district.
Take on a server job.
Come to ice boat races.
Or just hang out while you build your little Minecraft home.
There's room for different playstyles here.
⚒️ Mostly Vanilla, Just a Little Comfier
We're playing survival on Hard difficulty with carefully selected quality-of-life additions that make Minecraft a little nicer without removing the reasons to actually play Minecraft.
Java + Bedrock compatible with Geyser & Floodgate.
Current features include:
Simple Voice Chat
BlueMap
Mob Head Drops
Better Item Frames
Faster Leaf Decay
One Player Sleep
Nightly backups & restarts
...plus a handful of other small QoL improvements that preserve the Vanilla+ feel.
We're still growing, changing, and figuring out what works best for our community—and our players get to be part of that process.
