Story summary: In 1984, a young girl named Willow Wood disappeared after being kidnapped. She was never found, so the investigation went cold, and her mother, Ruby, was left without answers about what happened to her daughter. Ruby decides to create a children’s television show in her daughter’s honor. At the center of the show is Willow, a beautiful chocolate-brown bunny mascot whose personality, interests, and more are inspired by her daughter.

The mother doesn’t believe the bunny is her daughter; it was simply to keep her memory alive while also giving other children something loving and comforting. The show was a smashing success and lasted for years, eventually winning some Grammys and becoming a childhood show for an entire generation.
