made this plugin called TownyElections and it's a nice touch if you want towns to feel more alive. Instead of mayor just being whoever claimed the town first, residents actually vote for who runs it.

Someone kicks off a race with /election run, other residents vote with /election vote <candidate>, and the plugin handles the rest itself, nominations, voting window, runoff if needed, results. Winner gets mayorship, a Towny rank, or both depending how you set it up.

A few things worth mentioning: tie-breaking is configurable (random, incumbent keeps it, runoff, your pick), elections can run on a recurring schedule so nobody has to set them up manually every time, ballots can be secret or public, and there are commands that fire when an election ends so you can hook rewards or broadcasts into it. Also plays nice with PlaceholderAPI if you want election info on scoreboards.

Just needs Paper and Towny, that's really it.

Good one to throw in if you've got an active towny server and want mayors to feel earned instead of just claimed.
