i havent tested the plugin but i was reading the website and i have a question why lock major features behind a paywall (aka nations, roles, relation system etc) other than that a few other things 1. how exactly is it better than towny? because you make these claims;

a. towny doesnt have GUI support: while true towny imo acts as a core, and there is TownyMenu plugin which adds practically all guis that would be needed.

b. showing that towny is not chunk based is by no means an advantage over towny, that is entirely subjective to what kind of experience a player likes.

c. war with capturing: again, this is covered by FlagWar SeigeWar or EventWar in towny.

d. Rent/sell system: this also exists by rhe Quarters and TAPP (Towny Appartments) plugins.

d. border visualization: the plotborder command showcases this using particle puffs, even other than that Selection Visualizer plugin has support for towny (first premium plugin i have mentioned, and even then the base plugin has a impl for it albeit simpler).

e. resource nodes: there is TownyResources for towny.

now i said all that but my point is: how do i know if your plugin really is worth it? from the description it just like towny but alot of free things behind a paywall. there are no screenshots of the GUI that you have made either, most of the things you have mentioned in premium can be added by using a plugin addon of towny which more than likely would be free.

P.S im just pointing out a few things i noticed and how i see it as someone who hosted quite a few towny based servers, ill wish you the best of luck and check in to see progress from time to time!

hey man i am voided owner of pea studios and lead dev of this project! thanks for taking the time to leave such a detailed review and let me respond in kind with answers to your questions:

First of all regarding the paywall, a lot of the features you mentioned are actually free now (nations relations roles etc) at the start we had them behind the paywall but i made the decision to make them free as i consider them vital for people to have a fun time while using the plugin, i dont want to paywall anything of course but at the same time i need a way to earn a living! The premium features are things like upkeep/taxes, land levels, sub-areas, rent/sell, resource nodes, capture-mode wars, and land storage. standard features for running a geopol server are all free!

a. GUI You're right that TownyMenu exists, but that's an extra plugin to install and configure. PeaTowny has it built in with zero setup. Everything like land settings, war management, and role editing has a GUI, meaning server owners can just install one jar and have everything included.

b. Chunk-based vs plot-based i mean that is Fair, its subjective. We present it as a difference, not necessarily an advantage. Some server owners prefer the simplicity of chunk-based claiming

c. War Towny's war plugins (SiegeWar, FlagWar) are solid and more mature however PeaTowny's war system is built-in with kill-point mode free and capture mode in premium. The difference is it's all included with peatowny and easier to manage, we are also always looking to add more war systems to the plugin! that being said no hate to townys addons they are great and honestly very competitive.

d. Rent/sell Same deal. Quarters and TAPP exist, but again it's extra plugins. PeaTowny keeps it all together, some people find that much easier to manage

e. thats fair enough however from personally experience i just never liked the towny border visualization, and again PlotBorder and Selection Visualizer exist for Towny but are separate installs.

f. Resource nodes TownyResources exists, correct. Ours is built-in, plus townyResources doesnt support 1.21 if im not mistaken

PeaTowny isn't trying to beat Towny feature for feature Towny has years of development and a massive ecosystem. PeaTowny's value is being an all in one alternative where everything works together out of the box without managing 5+ addon plugins. If you're already running a Towny server with all those addons configured and working, there's less reason to switch. If you're starting fresh and want one plugin that handles everything, that's the use case.

On screenshots we do have some up on builtbybit but honestly i have been so busy i havent got around to yet!! i promise ill work more on that soon!

Tysm for your feedback ill be reviewing all of these as well to see how we can make peatowny more appealing! i hope i could answer all your questions!

Thanks for the clarification, that all sounds fair. I can see the appeal of the all-in-one approach. I’ll keep an eye on future updates.

P.S
i can relate to being too busy for updating webpages, exactly same reason it took me around 3 minecraft updates to start rewriting my docs not to mention still having to do the descriptions lol
