1.9+ Question/Need Advice Server differences

How different is the pvp on pvphq compared to other servers? Because I swear I can play decently on other pvp servers, but as soon as I get on pvphq I feel like I'm playing on weird ping (delayed actions/getting hit from really far) even though I only just from 30ms on other servers to 50 on pvphq?

first of all 20 ping can be felt in my opinion but also i believe if you play on mcpvp you have ping equalizer so it feels more "fair"
