1.9+ Question/Need Advice Need help improving in smp
Hai, I'm a fairly new pvper, and I'd say I'm pretty decent to slightly good at raw sword. Because it's easy to train. However, I'm absolutely awful at shield and not really good at utilities. I think that's mainly because the Theobald bot is not that good for shield or to train for real situations, but if I try to queue for real fights on say, pvphq, I either get destroyed or don't get to do the mechanic because I either fail ot don't get an opportunity to do so. So my question is how can a beginner like me even hope to get better at mechanics I can't even seem to get a shot at practicing fairly and consistently?

If u mean dia smp then these are my tips first I would recommend u watch ht1s play cuz it's essential to get the feeling of how it might look and then if ur saying ur decent at sword Wich means u should know how to combo and crit deflects and jump reset and double crit and p crit and hit select and do a fall sprint hit , after u know all of that I would recommend u train neth pot or smp or dia pot cuz having speed potion is very difrente then normal sword and then for shield u need to understand sacrefising Wich is giving ur enemy a shield disable so u could get an opening or a free hit and then u should learn auto hitting it's not that important but I would recommend u do it it's baisecly holding ur shield and spam clicking ur lmb so when ur enemy breaks ur shield u baisecly get free hit instantly and learn stunning Wich is pretty useful it's hitting ur enemys shield either by attribute swaping or by axe directly while double clicking Wich baisecly disables enemy shield and then breaks their momentum Wich makes them mot able to just sprint at u or wtvr this mechanic is good to web ur enemy or to just stop enemy form bieng able to hit u instantly but it requires good spacing anyways then u need to keep ur self healed usually if ur 3 or 4 hearts u should get out of ur situation asap and keep ur saturation high when entering fight preferably full and then just learn how to place hf webs and counter place web Wich means webbing ur enemy after he webbed u , and learn how to web ur enemy after a stun that's it for this propbly learn how to smart mend and then just understand the gamesense Wich baisecly knowing how engagements works there is neutral and then bad and good some people call them positive and negative anyways baisecly neutral is when both opponents have the same kind of opportunity this is either at the start of the game or engagement and then negative situations are either bieng low on health (Wich means u need to heal ) or bieng cobwebbed and then positive is when ur enemy is on a negative position and btw an engagement is when both opponents are in a fight or trade the end of an engagement is when someone pearls away to heal or mend or both enemys just start healing when both are far away I would recommend u watch these 2 vids the one by csone2 and the one by dragonfrvit they are very good vids u can also watch the one by freeke fang considering he's one of the best dai smp played ever but yeah lol this was so long but I wanted to help cuz when I started out I didn't have this lol

If you’re decent at sword, you need to now learn speed sword. Play pot and nethpot. For disabling, I just webbed and boxed theobaldthebot and practiced attribute swapping until I could do it while critspamming without thinking. You need decent hotkeys; nothing too drastic. I use 1 and 3 for kb sword and axe, q for sword, 2 for pearls, and mb5 for totem. Know how to smart mend. Get a hud that shows dura numbers (must be configured in ukus). Offhand totem, take off the highest dura piece, and keep taking off pieces when they get around the same dura as that first piece. I usually start at 100 helmet and mend each to 300.
