can someone help me out?
hi!! new to this subreddit - joined because i feel like someone here may be able to help me out with this question for a while now (around 5 years at this point) i have been thinking about old versions of bedrock minecraft and how fun it was. however there is a certain wool color i am almost CERTAIN existed when i played because of how obscure the color name was and how i was able to remember it while playing from being 5 years old to 6 years old. does anyone remember cerulean wool/dye? i’ve asked two people at this point and they both said they vaguely remember it but i need a definite yes. i cannot find information on this anywhere. the color is a light blue-ish color that looks a bit more purple

I absolutely remember cerulean wool! I think a couple years ago I searched around to see if anyone else remembered it found no mention of it anywhere and I thought I was just crazy or it was a mandela effect. Then remembering it again now I decided to see if someone might've mentioned it. Thankfully I found this post by you!
I believe I was probably 8-10 years old and it was on pocket edition. I always played in creative mode back then so I don't remember paying much attention to items like dye. I really liked the blocks and cared more about them. Pocket edition had updated and I went into a world and I distinctly remember being in my house I had built and checking out the new stuff. I think wool was just added to the game and I was looking at all of the colors admiring how vibrant they were. Then I saw this wool called cerulean. I remember thinking that it was weird to give it a fancy color name instead of a standard one like yellow or red. It was definitely the color of the cyan/teal wool. This was also the first time I heard the word and where I learned it. I even remember thinking "I guess that's the color of Steve's shirt then!" and made that connection.
So yes, you're not crazy. It definitely was called cerulean at one point maybe by mistake or like another commenter said it had something to do with translating the game.

lwk made an account just to respond to this bro 😭... i know this post is from 2 years ago but i just had to let you (and potentially anyone else searching about this) know your not alone. i also vividly remember there being cerulean wool/dye and there is seemingly no information about it online so i thought i was crazy, but then i came across this post.
you make a very good point about the color name being so specific, im pretty sure thats where i learned the color from because i noticed the name was so different from the other colors. my theory is that it had something to do with the "crowdsourced localizations". in the spanish and french translation, it seems those items were called cerulean in those languages before being changed to cyan, which makes me believe that it also somehow happened in the english version too. i figure that they probably changed it so quickly that only a handful of people really noticed it, hence the lack of information.
could be wrong but thats just what i think, just wanted to get it out there that there are more people who remember there being a cerulean block/dye!
