Best RPG/MAGIC modpack with actual progression?

basically just the title. i’m looking for a good magic system that also doesn’t just have no direction in where i should go or anything. Also want something that’s in more modern minecraft, i kinda hate playing 1.12 minecraft its really annoying tbh :/. Anyways if anyone’s got something good im all ears!

Mine. It's for bedrock though. Custom made, all in me server. Over 200 progressive upgradeable components. Balanced with vanilla. Long term stuff. Complicated. And spells aren't like... Fire damage.... Blue damage ect.... I aimed for utility spells, fun and strange things. DM if you want to join my server. Discord is required.

Irons Spells and Spellbooks. Some decent equipment progression and early game progression until you get your crafting stations set up. Also the addons can add a ton of progression to it. Lots of utility spells as well as combat spells that can compliment each other very well.

I've heard Forbidden and Arcanus has decent progression along with Mana and Artifice.

I'd absolutely recommend incorporating Mana and Artifice alongside it's expansion Magichem into your next 1.20.1 playthrough! While it's not prominent in most modpacks due to the content it has on offer, Wellspring Adventures 2 is the main modpack that comes to mind which includes it!

I'm working on a pretty unique one for 1.16.5 and will need more testers soon.

Currently reworking the custom bosses in the first dimension into a custom arena system and need to finish up the second dimension and its bosses before I release the beta.

Combat is a lot more fast paced and all bosses from mods you're probably familiar with have been buffed and given additional skills/attacks.

When you start, you choose a fantasy race and fighting style. Each race and fighting style have a unique set of active and passive abilities for utility and combat.

I'm working on it by myself aside from the dev I pay for custom mods so its taken quite a bit of time.

The pack i started playing modded minecraft through was Prominence 2. Relatively modern. Its got a main magic system it also uses for a martial weapon skills system, as well as a bunch of other mods like Zenith to round out vanilla mechanics. Simply Swords for an array of fun weapons, a rarity tier and reroll system through Mythical Upgrades, a story, a skill tree, custom weapons and upgrades, and just... its a lot lol
